第202回：Egghead Lil’ Bits: Part 2

Pangea Castle’s name was something of a mystery when it was first revealed but now, having learned more about how the world is sinking, it seems to suggest that this ‘center’ represents a time when far more of the land was above sea level. But why was it named this while the world is sinking rather than becoming more united? Was it named Pangea out of a hope to keep the world united despite the fact that it was sinking? Or…does the castle date back much further than we ever imagined?

The Man with the Burn Scar has been an interesting source of mystery the past few years. While it would be dangerous to speculate as to his origins, an interesting piece of speculation came from Shiryu who suspected that the man works for the government. An interesting line of thought to be sure! If the man *used* to work for the WG to some degree, that could mean he’s a former Marine. Perhaps one of the yet-unidentified Marines from the FILM Z colorspread?

Vegapunk’s message left us with plenty of ideas to chew on for what he knew about those who carry the mysterious D. Since we know that Vegapunk’s satellites and his consciousness live on, his thoughts on the topic -while lost in the transmission- still have an opportunity to be passed on and revealed to not only the main cast, but also the world!

It’s kind of cute to see how the lives of Gyogyo and other Bonney Pirate Crew members intersected with Kuma and Bonney’s lives before they eventually became ‘guardians’ to Bonney when she left to be a pirate. When Gyogyo and others first appeared in Chapter 498 alongside Bonney, who would have thought that they were actually significantly older than their (at the time) 10-year-old captain!!!

With the Toshi Toshi Fruit being able to literally change a user’s future into a near-carbon copy of significant historical and –by proxy- mythological figures, one must dare to question that if Toshi Toshi is awakened, could a literal army of Nikas be created by Bonney?!

The Egghead Arc left us with a confirmation for the three near-extinct races in the world of ONE PIECE: The three-eyed people, Lunarians, and the Buccaneers. The origins of these races are still deeply steeped in mystery but considering their importance to the forbidden events of the Void Century, we’re likely to find out plenty about all three of them before the series concludes. Were they ancient races? Alien races? Or even the results of experimentation?!

When it comes to the lumbering Buccaneers, there are plenty of large-sized humans in the ONE PIECE world but outside Kuma, none of them have been confirmed as actual Buccaneers, at least not full-blooded. Considering we’re in Elbaph now, it’s possible that we’ll learn more about gigantification and the World Government’s ancient obsession with it.

Imu’s power appear to be linked to the extraordinary life force of the Five Elders as he can take ‘something’ from them causing them to (apparently?) lose their longevity in an instant. This would explain why they bowed to him in Chapter 908, Imu can literally sap them of their lives at his leisure.

Bonney’s nickname is ‘Big Eater’ but it’s possible that her supposed family name ‘Jewelry’ is also a self-chosen nickname of sorts. In her age five intro page, only her first name was given and ‘Jewelry’ doesn’t seem to be related to Ginny or Kuma. It’s also fairly unlikely that she would take to being called by the family name of whatever Celestial Dragon is her genetic father. Did she call herself this because of how Kuma referred to the gem-like mark of her illness?

Speaking of Bonney’s sad past, do you think maybe somebody else in our endgame cast of characters aiming for the ONE PIECE secretly share something in common with Bonney? I’m referring to Bonney’s difficult past as a child of Celestial Dragon human experiments. I won’t delve too deep into the topic, but there’s one character in particular with an…’unusual body’ who I’m somewhat suspicious of.
