第134回：Shimotsuki Ushimaru

I have more than a hunch that this fellow here is the last daimyo of Ringo, Shimotsuki Ushimaru!

Hint 1. This looks like the komakitsune Onimaru!
Hint 2. On the clothing here is the image of a bull and ‘ushi’ means ‘bull’, as in Ushimaru!

We haven’t seen his face in full yet but in Chapter 953 we did get something of a glimpse of this brave damiyo who risked his life to revolt against Kaido.

The name ‘Ushimaru’ calls to mind the real-life Japanese historical figure Yoshitsune Minamoto whose childhood moniker was ‘Ushiwakamaru’. Incidentally, Yoshitsune’s real-life warrior-monk compatriot Benkei was known as ‘Oniwakamaru’ as a youngster which -no coincidence- is similar to the name of Ushimaru’s fox compatriot. I wonder if their stand against Kaido will be portrayed in this flashback!!!
