第198回：They’re Been Waiting…

The giants have arrived and they brought with them a ship of jaw-dropping size and scale, making even Marine warships look like rubber ducks in a bathtub. Have we seen this ship before? It’s certainly possible! We know of at least three named pirate ships used by giants:

・The Great Magni- A ship used by Jarul and Jorul.
・The Great Eirik- A ship used by Dorry and Brogy during their active pirating years. (Ch 129)
・Naglfar- The ship used by the New Giant Warrior Pirates.

So which one is this? We’ve never seen The Great Magni and The Great Eirik was only glimpsed from afar. While the main sail and general design are similar to The Great Eirik, the Naglfar also has a similar striped sail design. HOWEVER! The Naglfar doesn’t appear to have been anywhere even *near* the size of the ship we saw in this chapter! I would suggest that since the Marines are able to tell from a mere glance that this seems to *specifically* be Dorry and Brogy’s crew, there’s a good chance this is The Great Eirik, either way we’ll find out soon!

Since we’re talking about Naglfar, notice how it may have retained the original Great Warrior Pirates jolly roger on the striped sail which -although obscured in the Chapter 895 glimpse- shares a similar design with the striped sail clearly bearing the Giant Warrior Pirates jolly roger in this chapter. Either way, the striped sail on Naglfar is obscured by a dragon-like design that might actually be the New Great Warrior Pirates jolly roger. Hmmm…a dragon…interesting choice.

Meanwhile, this talk of giant ships alongside Vegapunk’s curious talk of people from ‘ all over the world’ awaiting Nika’s return reminded me of something we heard down in Fishman Island related to Noah…

This ‘people’ they’re referring to, could they in fact be…giants? While the ship design and nomenclature differs from modern giants, it’s possible that an even more ancient race of giants could have constructed Noah and that they were meant to guide it alongside an escort of Sea Kings.

I can’t help but wonder if that GIANT straw hat in Imu’s cold storage is also related… Maybe that’s a mystery for another day!
