Might Want to hide That Wort on Your Face

Speaking of King, that tattoo on his face bears a striking resemblance to a plant with a strikingly familiar name, Lunaria.

The Lunaria (sometimes called the ‘silver dollar plant’) bears circular fruit-like structures that turn from green into a pale white, ultimately looking like a chain of moons. As it turns out, the name ‘lunaria’, while not its Japanese name, is also commonly used in Japanese suggesting that Odacchi might have come across it while searching for ‘lunar’ inspired names. Interestingly enough, there’s also a plant named the botrychium lunaria or commonly, moonwort! Unfortunately, the scientific and common name pop up most prevalently in English sources, but only very rarely in Japanese searches. I wonder if this whole ‘lunaria’ thing is a coincidence, or did Odacchi intentionally…*plant* a secret on King’s face? ^o^

And since we’ve had to say so long to King’s mask, in memoriam, it’s a good time to bring up the resemblance his mask bore to the cover art of former guitarist’s solo debut album. Seriously, check it out! What’s more, the album contains the cover of a song originally performed with the group…Luna***. Hmmm!
