Let’s take a closer look at some of the female Marines seen alongside Tsuru.

Speaking of links to the past, it also seems possible that the young woman behind Tsuru on the left is the daughter of the woman seen 13 years ago on Tsuru’s right, (the one sporting sunglasses and a sword). They share a similar hat and also similar hairstyles but not similar expressions. Is it possible that the woman with glasses was transferred or retired and her daughter sought ’justice’ by working under the same leader as her mother?

Literally nothing important to say about this other than I love pouty Rebecca so much. Soooo much.

Bartolomeo’s impression of Sengoku and Tsuru paints an interesting juxtaposition of perspective on villainy. In the past Oda-sensei has drawn imagined depictions of pirates and other unsavory folk as comically villainous caricatures. Yet here we have an unsavory character himself, Bartolomeo, imagining what society accepts as purveyors of justice in the same pernicious light.

The scene we’ve all been waiting for did not disappoint: Kyros embracing his daughter for the very first time with his bare hands! You’ll recall from his flashback in Chapters 741 and 742 Kyros believed that, having been a murderer in his youth, as a father his bare hands would sully his innocent daughter. The only way he would physically interact with her was by first putting on gloves.

After Doflamingo’s hostile takeover of Dressrosa, although Kyros, as the tin soldier, interacted many times with his daughter it was only with his cold steel hands. A father and daughter moment 16 years in the making.

Sabo and Koala, what *is* the deal? Are they strictly revolutionary comrades in arms or does Koala give Sabo an entirely different kind up uprising? She addresses him as both ’kimi’ and ’Sabo-kun’ in Japanese which could be because she’s a year older than him but come on, her turning Sabo into a rubberman that rivals Luffy is high-caliber tsundere ammunition for ’Koabo’ fans.

Speaking of rubberface Sabo, there’s a popular theory that Luffy channels the memory of his brother to create the explosive attack, Red Hawk. Does that mean Sabo is channeling Luffy here!?

Episode 700! Congratulations! Not counting openings and commercials that means if you were to watch One Piece from Episode 1 it would take 11.5 days to watch it all! Juggernaut baby!
This milestone episode also brings us the first voiced appearance of Corazon in the animated series by veteran voice actor, Koichi Yamadera!

As Yamadera-san he also voices Beerus from Dragon Ball Super, this means Sunday mornings in Japan are going to deliver a double-punch of his vocal talents for the next few weeks!
